Kashechewan Water Woes

I love reading articles like this. With tainted water the issue of the day in northern native communities, the only blame the natives want to lay, is on the government.

Listen up natives! Non-indigenous people have been carrying your ass around, with taxpayers money, welfare, and numerous other social programs. Millions and millions have been spent to appease your "aboriginal heritage" and right to land. The government has built the water plants for you, and trained your people to run them. You have gotten millions to operate your tribes/land/social programs.

All you Chiefs out there, where is YOUR fiscal responsibility to your own people to ensure they had clean water?

I am getting tired of the argument of how pristine everything was centuries ago...if Canada hadn't been settled by now, building to where it is today, with advancements in technology and medicine, your aboriginal population would have been wiped out centuries ago by typhoid or some other disease.

Its about time you stood on your own two feet, and quit blaming your situation on everyone else. You got yourself into this mess this time...its time the government said "enough".
I am convinced that as long as we give in to the "demands" of others, our country is going to go to hell in a handbasket quicker than we care to think. Not just bowing to natives, but every other ethnic minority that comes to this country looking for handouts.

Try paying taxes for a few years before you criticize what the government is doing.
