Pakistani Aid - How Much is Too Much?

Kudos to the Canadian Government for reacting in the spirit of international cooperation to commit $20 Million to the earthquake victims. I have a problem though. The Muslim community has seen fit to denounce the offer as "inadequate".

I have no problem with the country donating to natural disasters, but one thing should be made very clear...the well is not bottomless, and we have our own issues to deal with at home. For Muslim-Canadians to denounce the offer of $20 Million is reprehensible. Before the Muslim community condemns the government's offer, take a look around and see what has been offered as aid in the past, and what other countries are offering first ($50 Million from US, $6 Million from China, etc.). Keep in mind, that in the last 10 months, there have been numerous natural disasters for which Canada has donated. Tell me if I am wrong, but were the Prairies compensated this fast when the flooding occured this spring? I didn't think so...

Loyalties for Canadians are to Canada first...other countries should not be the priority when Mother Nature speaks...
