Weenie of the Week - Jack Layton

Well, I'm not surprised that early on in the election, that the party leaders are always up there in contention for Weenie of the Week. This week, is Mr. Jack Layton. This entry is going to paraphrase a conversation Mr. Layton had with a local radio personality on a Toronto talk radio show very recently. Basically, the question asked of Mr. Layton, was, would he seek private medical care/help for his wife, if the public health system could not meet his wife's needs in a timely manner...what does Mr. Layton say? That he and his wife (Olivia Chow - also an NDP candidate running in Toronto) have discussed this issue, and both of them want to put their life into the hands of the public health system.
Oh, boy...when questioned further, Mr. Layton insisted that he would check his wife into the public health system and let it do the rest, or all it could for his wife.

Wow...how many of you guys out there would end up giving half of everything to your soon-to-be ex-wife as she walked out the door, screaming at you that you don't care?

All I can say is, true love for Mr. Layton is not having to say "I tried" if your wife is on her deathbed...an outright, bold-faced lie should wake Olivia up, after those comments were made on the radio.

If he will outright lie about how he would handle healthcare with his wife, how easy will it be for him to lie to the Canadian people?
Sometimes they should just keep their mouths shut.
Congratulations on your Weenie of the Week, Jack, and for securing a "for sure" loss for the NDP!
